18/19th Century - Miniature Peking Glass Imperial Yellow Snuff Bottle This is a very fine , Qing Dynasty (1644 - 1912) Compressed ovoid miniature form Snuff bottle with rounded sides, long flared neck, flat mouth, flat lips, wide mouth, and raised splayed oval footing; nicely Carved with a bird with flapping wings on top of a tree branch on one side, and a bird sitting on a nest resting on a tree branch. It comes with a a metal stopper and spoon toppled with an orange agate stone. The bottle is in excellent preserved condition . Provenance: German Private Collection A similar formed snuff bottle is illustrated in 'The Collector's Book of Snuff Bottles", by Bob C. Stevens, item 364. This style was common in the 18th C.
